1. PRIVATE PARTY
There are two types of house shows. One is a party where Sirsy is just one part of the event (like a birthday party you are throwing, a wedding, or a party for guests where the band is playing but not the focus of the party. So, maybe there are games for kids, a pool, and bbq etc and the band is just playing as a part of the party. The band would get a set guaranteed amount of money for this. 2. OFFICIAL HOUSE CONCERT
An Official Sirsy House Concert is very different and special. That is where the Sirsy show is the main focus of the event and functions like a concert in your home. Your home becomes an intimate venue and you can share a very special musical event with your friends and family – or choose to open your home to the public. The concert could be in your living room or yard. It could be acoustic (no drums or amps- just stripped down Sirsy with acoustic guitar, piano, & vocal – or we could do the full set up and play according to the space). We work with the host (that would be you) as partners for the event.
You sell tickets or ask your guests for a donation for the band (usually around $25+) And if you’re able you throw in a little bit extra to help Sirsy with travel costs and such, that’s always very appreciated! There is typically a minimum attendance or donation required to help Sirsy with travel costs… and it can fluctuate depending on the day of the week and how far Sirsy has to travel to get to your house. You would set up your space with chairs in rows and make it into a “listening room” type of concert setting where folks don’t talk – but listen to the show. And Mel & Rich would hang out with your guests for a meet n’ greet before and after. And they spend some quiet time with you as well.
Sirsy would sell tee shirts and cds at the event and you’d really have a special part in sharing the love of their music with your circle of friends.
